(From Derfelt Funeral Home)William Jack Goad, age 82 of Galena passed away at 11:59 AM on Thursday, July 14, 2022 after a short stay at Galena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Jack was born in Bentonville, AR on September 21, 1939 to the union of Nathan Jerome Goad and Alice Eugene (Potts) Goad. He attended Joplin Schools, and lived in Joplin until moving to Galena in 1972. He had worked at Tamko Building Products in Joplin and Eagle Picher in Galena. He enjoyed attending the Galena Assembly of God, playing golf, archery, and fishing.
He was united in marriage with Linda Sue Garrett on July 10, 1959 in Joplin, MO. She survives.
Additional survivors include one son, John Anthony Goad of Joplin; one daughter, Rhonda Leann Fox of Galena; one brother, Don R. Goad of Joplin; two granddaughters, Autumn Fox and Cheyenne Fox, and two great-grandsons, Jackson and Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Alice Goad; two sisters, Lenora Jean Standley and Norma Jean Burns; and one brother, Nathan J. Goad, Jr.
Mr. Goad has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Carl Junction Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
