Butch Kilcoyne

Cecil Paul “Butch” Kilcoyne, age 79, Carl Junction, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at his home with family at his side after a lengthy illness.

Butch was born June 24, 1943 in Coffeyville, Kansas, son of the late Vincent Edward Kilcoyne and Virginia P. (Thrasher) Kilcoyne. He grew up in Coffeyville, attending Holy Name Catholic Schools before graduating from Harrison High School in Harrison, Arkansas. 









He went to Coffeyville Community College, and then Emporia State University before moving to Carl Junction in 1979. He was a Fourth Degree Knights Of Columbus member, and served with the Kansas National Guards. He worked as a sales representative for RMS/Cruise Marketing for many years. He lived in Springfield, Missouri from 1997 to 2019 before returning to Carl Junction.

Butch was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He spent many hunting trips with his son and loved to fish whether it was at Grand Lake, Bull Shoals, Table Rock, Truman Lake, or on trips to the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota and Canada. He loved spending time with family and will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by sisters, Patricia S. Parsons, Vickye A. Steffan, and Mary Marie Kilcoyne; and a brother, Patrick F. Kilcoyne.








Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Janet E. (Isham) Kilcoyne of Carl Junction; son, Sean P. Kilcoyne of Oak Grove, Missouri; grandsons, Riley P. Kilcoyne and wife Rebecca of Aurora, Colorado, and Jesse W. Kilcoyne of Oak Grove; brothers, Stephen E. Kilcoyne and wife Joy of Clemmons, North Carolina, and Michael A. Kilcoyne of Mexico, Missouri; sister, Kathy Donohue and husband Mike of Boise, Idaho; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Coffeyville. Memorial contributions may be made to Integrity Hospice, Joplin, MO.
