(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Wilma Faye Pyles, 69, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022 in Joplin, Missouri. Faye was born July 30, 1952 in Carthage, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charley and Gail Sims. She was a lifetime Carthage resident.
Faye worked at Safeway Cheese and Big Smith Inc. for several years, then retired to spend time spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Carthage, Missouri. Faye was very active in the Women’s Ministry, as well as other ministries when asked. She was always there for her family and friends when they needed her.
Faye was united in marriage to Elba “Dwight” Pyles on September 6, 1970 in Carthage, Missouri; he survives.
Faye is survived by her husband, Dwight Pyles; one son, Dale Pyles (Michelle) of Overland Park, Kansas; two daughters, Tammie Edwards (Mike) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Shellie Nevills (Joe) of Carthage, Missouri; her mother, Gail Sims-Scribner; a brother, Stephen Sims (Alice) of Carthage, Missouri; a sister, Patricia Golden (Perry) of Carthage, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Taylor, Korby, Jayce, Michael (Megan), Johnathan, and Savy (James); and two great grandchildren, Mikey and Mason.
Faye is preceded in death by her father, Charley Sims.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Victory Baptist Church in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri.
