Shirley Patterson

Shirley J. Standley Helton Patterson, 78 of Frontenac, KS died July 12, 2022 at the Medicalodge of Frontenac.

She was born November 18, 1943 in Weir, KS the daughter of Ermine and Lila Mae (Gamble) Standley.

Shirley was the last high school graduating class of Weir in 1961.
After high school she married William Helton, he preceded her in death in 1975.

On December 18, 1993 she was united in marriage to Ralph Patterson in Pittsburg, KS; he survives of the home.

Shirley was a homemaker. She also ran a daycare and was a social worker as a parent involvement Coordinator.

She was a member of the Church of God at 13th & Tucker.

Additional survivors include a son: Ed (Kerry) Helton of Webb City, MO and a daughter April Stewart of Spring, TX; a brother: Tom (Helen) Standley of Charlotte, NC; a sister: Linda (Myrena Hawn) Pryer of Kansas City, MO; 21 grandchildren & great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband William Helton, a daughter Billie Jo Baert, a sister Constance McCoy, a brother William Standley and a daughter Louva Glidewell.

Funeral services will be 10am, Monday July 18, 2022 at the Church of God on 13th & Tucker in Pittsburg with Taylor Smithson officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Sunday evening. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
