(From Knell Mortuary)Keenan Anthony Reed, 19, Carthage, Missouri, passed away early Saturday morning, July 16, 2022 in Joplin, Missouri. Keenan was born July 22, 2002 in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Anthony Reed and Sarah (Witt) Hunter. He was a 2020 graduate of Carthage High School.
He worked as lead for Marmic Fire and Safety in Joplin. Keenan loved sports especially playing baseball. He played baseball all four years of high school. He enjoyed fishing, loved music, working on his car, but most of all, loved his family and friends. He attended the Carthage Nazarene Church.
Survivors include his mother, Sarah Hunter; his father, Anthony Reed; his brothers, Cortez Reed, Anthony Reed, Jr., Budda Reed, Tavon Reed, Keaton Reed, Andrew Reed, Breven Reed, Kionte Tidwell, Jay’ceon Boyce, Brant Owens, Isaiah Quickley, Harlan Hunter, and Dante Witt; a sister, Kenya Reed; maternal grandparents, Richard Witt (Patty); paternal grandfather, Robert Reed, Sr.; maternal great-grandmother, Alta Barker; uncles, Jamie Witt (Amanda), and Robert Reed, Jr.; aunts, Anna Mae Reed, and Denise Reed; cousins, Cameron Stripling, Caitlin Witt, D.J. Witt, Darrin Witt, Tasha Reed, TT Reed, Shadiamond; and many other cousins, and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Jameson Earl Barker.
Funeral services will be held 10 am, Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Church of the Nazarene, Carthage. Burial will follow the service at Hackney Cemetery, Carthage.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Church of the Nazarene, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to Carthage R-9 Booster Club in care of Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
