Emery Garoutte

Mr. Emery LeVaughn Garoutte, 86, of Diamond, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.

Emery was born on Sunday, March 22, 1936 in rural Stotts City, Missouri, to the union of the late Fred and Beulah (Graham) Garoutte. After high school he proudly served in the United States Army, returning home in 1962. 









On April 18, 1954 he was united in marriage to Kathryn Darlene Mitchell, sharing sixty-eight years together. For many years he was a truck driver, as Owner-Operator. He was a very talented musician. He enjoyed playing at area ATA Lodges, fishing, camping, and motorcycles as well as spending time with his family and friends. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Joyce Priest.

Emery is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Steve Garoutte and wife, Karen, of Joplin, Billy Garoutte of Carthage, Larry Garoutte and wife, Carol, of Diamond and Kathy Eckert and husband, Tom, of Forsyth; grandchildren, Cody Joe Garoutte, Kinsey Schultz, Ryan Garoutte, Cameron Garoutte, Amanda Garoutte, Carla McKee, Austin Shields, Tucker Sharples, Alyssa Eckert and Kendall Hansford; twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way; siblings, Kay White, of Greenfield and William Garoutte and wife, Helen, of Stotts City; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Garoutte are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Rob McKee officiating. 








Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Austin Shields, Tucker Sharples, Cody Garoutte, Cameron Garoutte, Ryan Garoutte and Aidan Shields. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Miller, Robert McKee, Kevin Fuller, Fred Reinhardt, and John McDaniel. Burial with full military honors will follow at Diamond Cemetery, Diamond, Missouri. 

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In-lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the ATA Lodge 160, in care of the funeral home. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website www.housh-goodwinfuneralhome.com
