(From Bland-Brumback Funeral Home)Felletia Fae Cowan, age 91, of Council Bluffs, passed away at Bethany Lutheran Home on September 4, 2020.
Felletia was born on October 23, 1928, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., to the late William and Nadene (Willhoite) Albrecht. Felletia received a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia, Mo. and a Masters degree from the Fort Collins College.
On June 5, 1949, Felletia married Billy Wade Cowan in El Dorado Springs, Mo. She taught at the Stockton, Mo. high school prior to she and her husband moving to Iowa.
Felletia was employed as a home economist for the West Pottawattamie County Extension office for eight years, followed by twenty years as a dress buyer for the Omaha Herzbergs and the Jack Levine clothing stores. She then went on to open her own business, Crossroads Bridal, in Omaha, which Felletia operated for fourteen years. Following the sale of her business, Felletia and Billy, started another business, The Bazaar, traveling the midwest showing and selling glassware at home shows. Their greatest joy was going on cruises around the world and collecting art during their travels.
Felletia was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Cowan, her parents and sister, Edith. She is survived by her sister, Billy Dean Strong (Willis) of Liberal, Mo. and many nieces and nephews. Felletia will be dearly missed by her niece, Carol Strong.
Her wishes were to be cremated. There will be no funeral or visitation.
Burial will be at the Anna Edna Cemetery in Jerico Springs, Mo. Memorials can be directed to the Midlands Humane Society, Council Bluffs, IA
