(From Ozark Funeral Home)Dennis Ray Flood Jr. (Dennie), age 63, of Anderson, Missouri departed this life on Monday, May 30, 2022, in the comfort of his home after several years of declining health.
Dennis entered this life on December 19, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Dennis Ray Flood Sr. and Patricia Louise (Scott) Flood.
Dennis was raised and attended school in Joplin, Missouri, where he was involved in multiple sports, including a Parkwood High School football state championship.
After graduating high school in 1977, he attended Missouri Southern State College and Crowder College. Soon after, he resettled in Anderson, Missouri for a short while, working in the family business, Flood's I.G.A.
On January 29, 1979, in Miami, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Rhonda Kay Ward. To this union, two children were born, Heather and Kyle.
Dennis was a very good husband, Dad, and Grandpa. He was active in his childrens sports and in the youth of McDonald County. He ran the Anderson Ball Program and was involved in the first Youth Wrestling Club, in McDonald County.
He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his very special pet companion, Bella. He loved to travel, especially by cruise, making a lifetime of memories, by air and sea, to many U.S. and Caribbean destinations. His true passion was his family. He was a family man, and everyone loved him.
Dennis was employed at Sibley Engineering and at Bella Vista P.O.A in the water department. He was also a Journeyman Electrician. He retired in July of 2017 after 23 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Clarence Ward; father-in-law, Jody Cook; and one nephew, Tyler Ward.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Rhonda, of the home; one daughter, Heather Burkholder, and spouse, Carlos, of Anderson, Missouri; one son, Kyle Flood and spouse, Becky, of Anderson, Missouri; four grandchildren, Micah, Malia, Kylee, and Kennily; three sisters, Sheryl Brower and spouse, Layton Brower, of Joplin, Missouri, Sheila Drake and spouse Curtis Drake, of Goodman, Missouri, and Stacey Cossairt, of Columbus, Kansas; Mother-in-law, Carolyn Cook, of Anderson, Missouri; Brother-in-law, Rick Ward and spouse (Janice) of Joplin, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other family and friends whom he loved very much.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Cove Mission of Hope Church, with Reverend Bob Cartwright officiating. The physical address is 12707 route 59, Lanagan, Missouri, 64847. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
