Carla DeStefano

Carla Sue DeStefano, age 58, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at her home in Joplin.

Carla, daughter of the late Vincel and Lena (Cornell) Corwin, was born on October 2, 1964 in Lockwood, MO. She worked for many years as a health care worker. She was previously employed with Community Support Services and with hospice. This provided her the opportunity to positively impact many lives over the years. 









With a servant’s heart, she was always quick to offer help and support to those in need. She was passionately devoted to her children and grandchildren, enjoying time spent on long walks and long conversations with each of them. She loved the outdoors and taking her beloved Cooper, everywhere she went.

Survivors include her children, Crystal Stephens, and her husband, Jordan, of Joplin, Daniel DeStefano, and his wife, Shaina, of Joplin, and Cassie Lane, and her husband, Evan, of Webb City; grandchildren, Jordan Clay Stephens, Anthony Stephens, Greyson Stephens, Kasen DeStefano, Caven Hurtt, Kailyn Lane, and Evan Lane Jr.; siblings, Teresa Arnold, and Randy Corwin, all of Joplin; a close niece, Heather Brown, of Joplin; and several other loving nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Ray Corwin, and Steven Corwin.








Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with inurnment to follow at Ozark Memorial Park in Joplin. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, November 10th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
