(From Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home)Cloyd E. Gibson, 78, of Oswego, passed away at 9:27 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Oswego Health and Rehab.
Cloyd Edward Gibson was born on October 3, 1944, to Maurice Alonzo and Bessie (Boyd) Gibson in Fairland, Oklahoma. He grew up and attended school in Afton Oklahoma, graduating from Afton High School in 1963.
Following high school, Cloyd served in the United States Air Force for a few of years. One year of his service was spent in Vietnam. After completing his military service, Cloyd settled in Oswego. For 30 years, he was a painter at Tec Tank.
In his early years, he attended Lone Star Baptist Church in Afton, Oklahoma. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling.
On August 4, 1967, Cloyd and Linda M. Simmons were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

One son – Chawn Gibson and his wife, Whitney, of Carterville, Missouri
One daughter – Christy Lewellen and her husband, Roland, of Oswego, Kansas
Four grandchildren – Brenda Lewellen, Cohl Gibson, Cadin Gibson, and Conner Gibson
Two great-grandchildren – Alex Lewellen and Adrian Lewellen
Five brothers – Bob Gibson of Adair, Oklahoma; Charlie Gibson of Afton, Oklahoma; Leroy Gibson of Narcissa, Oklahoma; Chigger Gibson of Afton, Oklahoma; and Carl Gibson of Cherokee, Oklahoma
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Hoot Gibson, Vearl Gibson, Johnny Gibson, and Kenneth Gibson; and three sisters, Ruth Goins, Katie Vincent, and Mary Bell.
No service has been planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
