Ed Chambers

(From Parker Mortuary)

Edgar Franklin Chambers, age 85, Jasper, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at his home.

Ed was born March 11, 1937 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, son of the late Direll H. Chambers and Priscilla L. Walker.

He grew up in Charleroi PA and graduated from Charleroi High School. After 4 years of service in the United States Navy, he lived and worked in Ohio for Mark’s Tractor where his interest in computers began.

He began his career in the Pittsburgh PA area. He and his wife (Billie Chambers - now divorced) raised their children and he enjoyed camping, hunting and the outdoors.

He then relocated his family in the mid 1980's to the Dallas TX area where he advanced his career as a Sr Systems Analyst for Dresser Industries and later with NC National Bank (NCNB). He enjoyed travelled vacations and creating a memorable family story.

He relocated to Charlotte NC and then later to California where he continued his career with AAA Auto Club from which he retired from working but never from learning and education. He held multiple degrees in Computer Science and Technology and after retirement achieved a Doctorate in Theology. His perfect sense of humor began the joke that his kids call him "Dr. Dad".

In 2014 he moved to Missouri to be close to his family. He enjoyed some traveling, reading and working on his farm, but his happiest times were spent with his family.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Podani.

Survivors include his children, Kristi Chambers of Joplin, and Matthew Chambers of Webb City; grandchildren, Carson Smith and Parker Smith both of Joplin.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary with private family services to be held at a later date.
