(From Parker Mortuary)James “Jim” Lee Heath, age 76, Joplin, MO, passed away on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on August 20th, 1946, in Joplin MO., the son of the late Hallet H and Bernice G. (Wright) Heath.
He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968, and was a Vietnam veteran.
He married Deborah Ganes on December 14th, 1968, and together they raised one daughter. They would have celebrated 54 years of marriage next month.
Jim was a barber in the Joplin community for 50 years. He and his wife owned and operated Heath II Barber Shop on Main Street for 30 years. He was loved by all who knew him, and enjoyed getting to know all of his customers. He will be greatly missed amongst the entire community.
Jim was a devoted father to daughter Heidi Ansley, and devoted “papaw” to his two granddaughters, Ally and Jalen.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his wife, gambling at the casino, sitting on the front porch with his neighbors, working on cars, and spoiling his grand babies.
Jim is survived by his wife, Debbie Heath, Joplin, MO., daughter Heidi Ansley and husband Jason, Webb City, MO., two granddaughters Ally Ansley, Webb City, MO., and Jalen Romero and husband Jacob, Memphis, TN., sister Kay Cargile, Webb City, MO., and many nieces and nephews.
A come and go celebration of life (party) will be held in Jim’s honor on Saturday, November 12th from 6-8:30 PM at Midwestern Built Fitness, 121 E 10th Street, Joplin, MO.
