Ivan Linton

Carl “Ivan” Linton, 83, Neosho Missouri, died on Monday, September 9, at his home following a long illness. Ivan was born January 29, 1941 in Cass County and was the oldest son of Jackie Tanner Linton and Carl Richard Linton. Ivan attended Granby and Stella schools, graduating from Stella High School in 1958. He worked a variety of jobs, but primarily made his living as a cattleman. He especially liked raising Brahman bulls. He married Donna Kay Clark on September 25, 1971 in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother, Leon Linton. Ivan is survived by three children, Bill Linton (Wendy) of Stark City, Ronnie Linton, Neosho, and Donnie Linton of Granby, one stepdaughter, Tammy Baker, and one stepson, Mike Baker (Janet) of Neosho, Missouri. Ivan is also survived by his brother, James Linton (Gayla) Southwest City, and a sister Joyce Hogan, Joplin, Missouri.








Ivan has 5 grandchildren, Eric Linton, Stella, Ryan Linton, Diamond, Rodney Baker (Stephanie) Neosho, Ashley Crane (Kyle) Neosho, Casey Mehrens (Joel) Neosho, several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Ivan was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time with his grandkids and taught them how to hunt deer as well as process deer from skinning to making jerky. The local coyotes and deer will rest a little easier now.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 6-7 PM at Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Missouri. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 10 AM at Hazel Green Cemetery, Neosho, Missouri with Rev. Donnie Linton officiating. The casket will remain closed at all times. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Linton, Donnie Linton, Ronnie Linton, Eric Linton, Ryan Linton and Bobby Linton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ivan to Hazel Green Cemetery, C/O Clark Funeral Home P. O. Box 26 Granby, Missouri 64844.
