(From Clark Funeral Home)James Coy Branum, age 81, of Seneca, Missouri, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the Seneca House Retirement Community. He was born June 26, 1941, in Byrdstown, Tennessee, to the late Samuel Coy and Ada Pauline (Jones) Branum.
He married Linda Kinslow in 1973, and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2019. James worked in sanitation for Twin Rivers.
James grew up in Tennessee. As a young man, he lived life on the edge.

As time passed and dues were paid, James met Linda in Kansas City, and shortly after, they were married in Miami, Oklahoma. In an effort to make a good life for themselves, they moved to Neosho and succeeded. He enjoyed working on small engines in his garage, mowing lawns, watching Westerns and Andy Griffith, but most of all, spending time with his family.
He is survived by one son, James Troy Branum of Neosho; daughter, Barbara Nabors; three grandchildren, James Coy Branum, Justin Troy Branum, and Ashleigh Jean-Marie Branum; great-grandchild, Paislee Adefay Branum; and nine siblings, Violet Freil, Earnest Branum, Michael Branum, Betty Dotson, Virgina Gunter, Vickie Stockton, Kathy Choate, Lynn Choate, and Teresa Malek.
He is survived by one son, James Troy Branum of Neosho; daughter, Barbara Nabors; three grandchildren, James Coy Branum, Justin Troy Branum, and Ashleigh Jean-Marie Branum; great-grandchild, Paislee Adefay Branum; and nine siblings, Violet Freil, Earnest Branum, Michael Branum, Betty Dotson, Virgina Gunter, Vickie Stockton, Kathy Choate, Lynn Choate, and Teresa Malek.
In addition to his parents and wife, three siblings, Joy Lovell, Jean Neal, and Ricky Branum, preceded him in death.
A private family service will be held at a later date. The Clark Funeral Home in Neosho has cared for his arrangements.
