(From Parker Mortuary)Margaret Louise Cochran Forcum, age 81 of Pittsburg, Kansas passed away Tuesday, June 28th at the Via Christi Village Hospice Care Facility in Pittsburg, Kansas following an extended illness.
Margaret was born March 2, 1941 in Prosperity, Missouri to Howard and Hattie (Myers) Rumble. She married James Edward Cochran, from East Prosperity on July 3rd, 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma. In 1958, they moved to Warner Robbins, Georgia, where Mr. Cochran was assigned, upon entering the US Air Force.
During the next 20 years, they traveled abroad per USAF orders. While residing in Warner Robbins, they had two children. James Edward Cochran Jr was born March 26, 1959 and Tina Louise Cochran was born July 31, 1961. Margaret worked as a CNA in various hospitals and nursing homes until the couple returned home to Missouri, upon her husband's retirement in 1978. Margaret went to work for Annshire's Sewing Factory in Webb City, Missouri and was forced to retire early, due to health complications.
Margaret was preceded in death by husband James, in 1983 and married Edward Forcum on September 3, 1988. Mr. Forcum and her son James Edward Jr. both also preceed her in death: Mr. Forcum in 2015 and her son in 2019. Her daughter Tina Louise Emerson, from Pittsburg, KS is the sole surviving child from her marriage to Mr. Cochran.
Margaret's family survivors include sisters, Alberta Gerard, Martha Rumble, and Dixie Lassiter and brother, Norman Rumble, all from the Carterville/Prosperity surrounding area. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who reside in several states throughout the country.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 6th at 1:00pm at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri. Family will receive friends from 12:00pm until time of service. Burial will take place at approximately 2:00 pm at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Joplin Humane society, in care of Parker Mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
Pastor Jimmy Rumble will be officiating the service.
