Donald Swanger

Donald William Swanger, 72 of Carthage passed away November 16, 2014 at Mercy Hospital Joplin.

 Donald was born May 5, 1942 in Carthage, Missouri to William Swanger and Clara Watson Swanger. Donald was a lifetime Carthage resident. Donald served in the United States Army. He worked for the former I.C.I. explosives (The old Atlas Plant), and was a member of the Grace Point Assembly of God Church of Carthage.

 Donald was united in marriage to Marilyn Jordan September 16, 1962 in Webb City, Missouri she survives. Donald is survived by two daughters Kimberly Snow and husband Troy of Wichita, KS and Melissa Sharples and husband Curtis of Sarcoxie, MO. Six grandchildren Lindsey, Ladea, Michael, Cody, Madisyn, and Kaleb. Eight great grandchildren Caius, Peyton, Kameryn, Jayden, Maddox, Khloe, Gannon and Kaydence, one brother Allen Swanger of Huntsville, AL, one sister Doris Freed of Carthage, MO. Donald is preceded by his parents, four brothers Billy Swafford, Charles Swafford, Samuel Swanger, and Theodore Swanger, one sister Patricia Feezell. 

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday November 19, 2014 at Grace Point Assembly of God Church, Carthage. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday November 18, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Gideon Bible in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
