Dorothy Marie (Dottie) Cornell, age 72 of Joplin, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Spring River Christian Village after a lengthy illness.
Born February 11, 1942 in Salem, MO, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Wood Lyons and lived in the Joplin area most of her lifetime. A homemaker, she also worked as a baker and cook for a restaurant in Galena, KS.
Survivors include three daughters, Vickie Cupp and husband James of Joplin, Lori Hindman and husband Mike of Wright City, MO, Shawn Creger and husband Rick of Norman, OK; seven grandchildren, Amy Schofield and husband Johnnie, Lacey Sharon and husband Zach, Erin Copeland and husband Chris, Miguel De Anda and wife Morgan, Joseph De Anda, Brandy Hindman, Nathan Creger and spouse Chris; eleven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22nd at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Parker Mortuary.
