Harriette Irwin

Harriette Garrigues Erwin, 90, of Carthage died November 16, 2014 at Sarcoxie Nursing Center.  Born Harriette Maxine Frances Woodard on February 24, 1924 at Brooklyn Heights, she was the daughter of Harry J. and Pauline M. Kasper Woodard.  She attended Carthage and Webb City schools and graduated with the Webb City High School Class of 1942. She was employed for many years at Webb City Bank and was proud to have been one of the first employees of Southwest Missouri Bank when the bank was established in June 1979.  She retired from SMB in 1993.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carthage. She married Donald Charles Garrigues on October 14, 1945.  He died on August 25, 1993.  On September 22, 1995, she married Galen B. Erwin.  He died on May 24, 2002.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Lizabeth Garrigues and Jeannine Garrigues Smith, a grandson, David Cody Smith and wife Jana and a granddaughter, Hollen Ann Smith, all of Carthage.  She was delighted to have been a great-grandmother to one great-grandson, Charles Fisher Smith.  She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Rosemary Woodard James and a brother, Robert E. Woodard.

Services will be held at Knell Mortuary on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 2:30PM.  Visitation will precede the services at 1:30PM at the mortuary.  The Reverend James Lee will officiate.  Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
