Leonard Brueske

Leonard Eugene Brueske, age 75, Joplin, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at his home after an illness.

Leonard was born August 13, 1939 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Wilber W. Brueske and Virginia Mae Haase Brueske and had lived in Joplin the past 12 years moving from Wisconsin.

He was a longtime member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and had worked at Crown, Cork and Seal in Wisconsin for many years. His favorite hang out was at Marge’s Restaurant in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, south of Joplin and made many friends in the short time he was here.

Leonard is survived by his son, Mark Brueske and his wife, Linda, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; a daughter, Sandra Powell, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; one brother, Warren Brueske, Ettrick, Wisconsin; a sister, Constance Reid, LaCrosse, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Mark Powell and his wife, Elsie, Michael Braaksma, Susan Brueske, Ryan Brueske; two great grandchildren, Carter Powell and Cole Powell; and several extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by a special nephew, Kent.

A celebration of his life is planned for Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mike Snider and John Wilkins will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the church.
