Floyd Edward Long, age 72 of Joplin, went to meet his heavenly father on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Floyd was born June 8, 1942 to the late Gabriel Long and Velma Sigar Long in Joplin. He has lived in this area all of his life. Floyd worked for many manufacturing plants throughout the Joplin area and was a member of the Duenweg Assembly of God church.
He married Sue Garver Bates on July 3, 1978 in Miami, Oklahoma and she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his step-daughter, Jennifer Waterman; step-sons, Jeff, Ben, Kevin and Mark Bates; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends that will miss Floyd.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Duenweg Assembly of God.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
