(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mr. Charles Edward Whittington, 59 of Neosho, Missouri departed this life on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Wildwood Ranch in Joplin, Missouri.
Eddie was born September 27, 1963, in Neosho, MO to James Whittington and Verna (Whittington) Manar. He grew up in the Neosho area and graduated from Tri-City Christian Academy in 1983. He was a member of Joplin Full Gospel Church.
Eddie worked for many years as a truck driver, he was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed going to the races, the monster truck shows and watching football. Of all those things, being an Uncle was his favorite title, he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, and was so proud of each and every one of them!
To know Eddie was to know what a true giver was!
Eddie was preceded in death by his stepfather; Jimmy Manar in 2019.

Charles is survived by his mother Verna Manar of Neosho, his father James Whittington and Shirley of Neosho, his brothers and sisters; Kevin Whittington, Kimberly Musgrave and husband Cecil of Neosho, Kristie Putnam of Joplin, Judith Laningham and husband Larry of Fayetteville, Sheila Bishop and husband Bob of Neosho, Mona McGee of Neosho, Ray Ethridge and wife Kelly of Neosho, Chester Ethridge of Anderson, and several very loved nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Edward Whittington will be held Saturday November 5, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at The Joplin Full Gospel Church in Joplin, MO with Pastor Josh Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in the King Cemetery west of Neosho, Missouri. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are; Robert Novack, Brian Tackett, Chancellor Banchi, Cody Harrington, Brian Flory and Tony Flory. The family will receive friends Friday, November 4, 2022, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
