Lewis Lindley

Lewis Dean Lindley was born October 1, 1938, in Neosho, Missouri, one of four children to the late William Lewis and Aline (Greninger) Lindley. He entered into rest in the comfort of his home in Diamond on November 1, 2022, at age 84. 

Lewis was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Diamond High School, class of 1956. He worked as general manager of Greenwood Brothers Plastering for 45 years. 









Lewis was a member of the AICA since 1965, a life member of the Diamond First Baptist Church, and sang in the gospel quartet, The Diamondaires, for twenty-five years. He has raised registered Charolais cattle since 1965 and loved working his cattle and caring for his home. 

On September 28, 1956, at the Frist Baptist Church in Diamond, Lewis and Sara Winther were united in marriage, and she survives. 

In addition to his wife of sixty-six years, Lewis is survived by two children, Hank Lindley of Joplin, Missouri, and Teresa Sherrill and husband, Chuck of Diamond, Missouri; two sisters, Patricia Thurman and Shirley Plummer, both of Diamond, Missouri; two grandchildren, Levi Sherrill and Libby Hunt and five great-grandchildren, Lexy Bridges, Madison Sherrill, Maddox Sherrill, Lili Spurgeon, and Carter Hunt. 








In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Roy Gene Lindley. 

At 10:00 am, Monday, November 7, 2022, funeral services will be held at the Diamond Baptist Church; Pastor Tivis Boothe and C. G. Gilmore will officiate. Interment will follow in the Diamond Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation, Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, Missouri. 

Contributions in memory of Lewis may be made to the building fund of the Diamond First Baptist Church, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P. O. Box 66; Neosho, Missouri.
