Don Poulson

Donald J. “Don” Poulson, 82, of Carthage passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, in Carthage, MO. Don was born on August 4, 1940, in Carthage, MO. He was the son of Harold “Shorty” Poulson and Opal Duke Poulson. 

Don was a lifetime resident of Carthage. He graduated with the class of 1958 from Carthage High School. Don served in the United States Army from 1958-1962. He had a long career in heat and air with Scott Plumbing. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Carthage, MO where he served as a deacon for many years.

Don was united in marriage to Jayme J. Hedge on January 26, 1963, at the Temple Baptist Church in Carthage. She survives.

Don is survived by two sons, Donald J. Poulson, Jr. and wife Jill of Shell Knob, MO, and Curtis W. Poulson and wife Tina of Taneyville, MO. one brother, Howard Edward “Eddy” Poulson of Springfield, MO and one sister, Sue Macy of Diamond, MO. Six grandchildren, Brooke, Trey, Emily, Stephan, Tara, and Taylor, and six great grandchildren Tucker, Boe, Jasmine, Mason, Harper and Camila, and one on the way. 

Don was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Poulson and Bud Poulson and one sister, Pat.

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Bible Baptist Church. Contributions may be made to the Bible Baptist Church in care of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
