(From Parker Mortuary)Kenneth “Ken” Everett Nida, age 76, of Webb City, passed away on Thursday, June 8th, 2023 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Ken was born on June 11th, 1946 in Wichita, KS to the late union of Milton and Juanita (Parker) Nida. He was a 1964 graduate of Winfield High School, Kansas. He was a longtime member of the Joplin Church of Christ.
Ken married the love of his life, Linda Kay Fergerson, on January 31st, 1986.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, BBQing, traveling, going to the lake, working on the house, and most importantly spending time with his grandkids.
Ken enlisted into the United States Navy on July 25th, 1969 and was honorably discharged on July 26th, 1971. He continued on in the Naval Reserve for four years. He then worked for Cessna Aircraft in Winfield, KS from 1971 until 1972 on the production line. Ken then took an assistant management position at Bankers Investment Company from 1972 until 1982. He then switched jobs to American National Insurance, where he was a full-time insurance agent from 1982 until 1983. In 1983, Ken transferred to Lance Inc., in Charlotte, NC where he was a route salesman until 1987. In March of 1987, he moved to Springdale, AR to work as a territory salesman for Northwest Arkansas Paper Co. Ken loved to try new things and keep moving.

Ken is survived by his four children, Christi Samples and husband, Arlan, Matt Cleaver and wife, Theresa, Mike Cleaver, and Tina Bard and husband, Josh; one sister, Cathy McKimson; one nephew, Robert McKimson and wife, Amanda; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-nieces.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 16th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Larry Dahnke officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the special care of Parker Mortuary.
