Judy Shores

Judith Ann Shores of Carthage, MO passed away peacefully at home following her battle with cancer on November 20, 2024.

Judy was born in Dripping Springs, Oklahoma on November 13, 1939, to Bob and Evelyn Bartlett. She graduated from Joplin High School. Following high school, she married Almond S. Bozarth, who survives along with their two daughters, JaJean K. Gray and Curena Dixon. Also, that marriage includes son, Bart Bozarth (deceased). Grandchildren, Jacey and Carly Dixon of Carthage, MO, Joshua L. Jones (Tiffany) of Joplin, MO, Brooke L. McFarland of Warrensburg, MO, and several great grandchildren, London Nelson (Diego), Israel, and Kason Jones. Although they entered a 21-year long marriage with the best of intentions, it was less permanent than expected, both went on to remarry.

On September 2, 1990, she married Billy I. Shores I (deceased). Of that 33-year marriage, she gained an extended family which she loved as her own. Of that marriage, surviving is son, Billy I Shores II (Beth) of Tulsa, OK, son, Chris Shores (Belinda) of Carthage, MO, son, Mike Shores of St. Louis, MO, daughter, Sarah Barton (Mike) of Creve Cour, MO , Terri Jones (Ralph) of Coffeyville, KS, as well as several grandchildren, Shana Dean (Jason) of Yukon, OK, Chelsea Shores of Chicago, IL, Tori Graffenstein (Lance) of Racine, WI, Cole Copeland of Tulsa, OK, Peter and Elizabeth Barton of Creve Cour, MO, Emily Maxwell (Nick) of Joplin, MO, River Anderson (Mercy Rivers) of Kansas City, MO and several great grandchildren, Oliver and Trea Graffenstein, Caitlin, Elise and Isla Dean.

As per Judy’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a service will be held at a later date.
