(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Ms. Charlotte Jones was born in Reeds, Missouri, to parents Violet (Clark) Henry and Cecil Henry on April 3, 1942.
Her childhood was filled with life on a farm, her five siblings, school, and fond memories of her mother making homemade bread that would draw kids from all over. She would hide out in the woods or barn loft reading books, and her siblings would hunt her down to fill in if they didn't have nine players for their baseball team, ousting her from her reading places. Charlotte graduated as Salutatorian from Sarcoxie High School in May 1960.
Charlotte's career was always in business; she loved office work. She began at Putnam's Lumber Company in Carthage, Missouri. Charlotte took a break from working to have her children: Todd Donald, Rena Annette, Aaron Lee, and Eric Wade Jones. When her youngest child, Eric, was off to kindergarten, Charlotte returned to work. She moved to the office of Juvenile Shoe Corp. in Sarcoxie, Missouri, then to the office of Justin Boot Corp. in Sarcoxie, Missouri, and finally to the office of Justin Boot Corp. in Carthage, Missouri, where she was the Office Manager until she retired at age 70. Charlotte loved her job!
But of all Charlotte's favorite things, the most precious to her were her great-granddaughter, Estelle, and her granddaughter, McKenzie. They were her pride and joy. She would rather spend time reading with Estelle than do anything else.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Todd Donald Jones; father of her children, Donald Lee Jones; brother, Leon Henry and sister-in-law, Loraine Henry.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Annette Jones, Independence, Missouri; Aaron Jones and wife, Kim, Republic; and Eric Jones, Diamond, Missouri; granddaughter, McKenzie Jones; great-granddaughter, Estelle Brown; siblings, Ray Henry, Reeds, Missouri; Betty Spencer (Dale) Stotts City, Missouri; Kay Dunn, Carthage, Missouri; and Donna Parker, Mount Vernon, Missouri; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
