(From Clark Funeral Home)Jimmie Lee Renfro, 81, of Diamond, Missouri, passed away on November 25, 2024. He was born on August 26, 1943, in Diamond, Missouri, to Fred and Zellma Renfro.
Jimmie graduated from Diamond High School in 1961, where he became the Missouri State discus champion, a title he proudly held for decades. He later attended Pittsburg State University and pursued a successful career as an electrical engineer at New-Mac Electric, where he dedicated 32 years before retiring.
An accomplished athlete, Jimmie earned 15th place in the World Horseshoe Pitchers Association and was an avid softball player. His skills and competitive spirit left a lasting impression on those who played alongside him. Beyond athletics, Jimmie was an exceptional home builder and a passionate traveler, exploring the beauty of the United States with enthusiasm.
Jimmie was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church, where he found joy and community in his faith.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Jean Presson, and her husband, Russell, of Joplin, Missouri; two sons, Jeff Renfro (Jill) and John Renfro (LaTosha); and one daughter, Joanne Link (J.D.), all of Neosho, Missouri. He is also survived by his brother, Dean Renfro (Grace) of Diamond, Missouri; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Renfro, of Diamond, Missouri; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Zellma Renfro, and his three brothers, Clinton Renfro, Clyde Renfro, and Bob Renfro.
A celebration of Jimmie’s life will be held at Hilldale Baptist Church on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to Kenney Cemetery, 8408 Carver Road, Neosho, Missouri, 64850.
Jimmie’s legacy of kindness, faith, and a love for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
