(From Carson-Wall Funeral Home)Mason C. Vance, 29, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and a former Parsons resident, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at his home in Broken Arrow.
He was born on August 27, 1995, at Parsons to Tim and Melanie (Huggins) Vance. He grew up at Parsons, Sylvan Grove, and Pomona. He graduated from Labette County High School in 2013 where he was an excellent student graduating in the top ten percent of his class. He attended Labette Community College and Pittsburg State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Mason worked at Walmart, Old Dominion, and Fastenal in Parsons. He moved to Broken Arrow in 2020 where he worked at Kimball Midwest.
Mason was an avid Oklahoma Sooners, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Mason was an outgoing, friendly, happy-go-lucky young man who had a quick-witted sarcastic sense of humor. He will always be lovingly remembered by family and friends.
Mason is survived by his mother Melanie Johnson of Parsons; his father and step-mother, Tim and Gina Vance of Tulsa, OK; his sister, Bradie Johnson of Parsons, KS; his step-brothers, Mark Solla and Andrew Solla of Tulsa; his step-sister, Alicia Solla of Tulsa, his grandparents, Debbie Huggins of Parsons and Gordon Huggins of Parsons; his aunts and uncles; Laurie and Michael Stafford of Bentonville, AR; Ben Huggins of Parsons; Rodney and Shannon Vance of Spring, TX, Brian Vance of Carl Junction, MO, and Clint and Trinette Vance of Parsons; and many cousins and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Mary Ellen Vance.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor Tony McCord officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Memorials are suggested to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home 112 N. 26th St., P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 6357.
