(From Parker Mortuary)Judy Joy Campbell passed away on November 19, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born on November 3, 1943, in New York while her father was stationed there during his military service. Despite lifelong eyesight challenges from being born premature, Judy found great joy in reading and listening to the radio.
At the age of six, Judy and her family moved to Webb City, Missouri, where she lived until moving to Texas. She worked for several years as a dedicated data entry clerk for an insurance company and bank. Judy later chose to leave the workforce after her beloved mother, Dorothy Mae Campbell (née Corum), was diagnosed with cancer. Dorothy, who was the light of Judy’s life, passed away in 1998.
Judy’s father, Lawrence Campbell, passed away in 2009. After his passing, Judy’s life changed when her kind neighbors, Warren and Oleane Johnson, reached out to her cousins, Vicky Copple and Tammy Cloven, for support. Vicky and Tammy lovingly welcomed Judy into their lives and moved her to Carl Junction, Missouri where she found comfort and family.
Vicky Copple became Judy’s guardian in 2009 and was a source of steadfast support until Judy’s passing. Judy cherished outings, shared meals, and quality time with her family. Her resilient nature touched the hearts of all who knew her.
She had a deep admiration for Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family and treasured her cherished china plate from the Royal Gift Shop.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Mae and Lawrence Campbell, and is survived by her cousins.
Judy will be remembered for her quiet strength, her love for simple pleasures, her resilience and survivorship, and the deep appreciation she had for her family and caretakers. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
