Diana Stepp

Diana Sue Stepp, age 73, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in Joplin after a sudden illness.

Diana was born October 17, 1951 in Joplin, daughter of the late Raymond Edward Capp and Barbara Jean (Irelan) Capp. She grew up in Asbury, MO and graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1969 before attending Missouri Southern State College. 







She married Roy G. Stepp on December 11, 1970, and they followed his military career for some time before moving back to the Joplin area in 1972. She worked for a while at S.W. Byproducts in Springfield, MO before becoming a stay-at-home mom to take care of her family. She enjoyed cooking, and taking care of her husband and children anyway necessary. She later went to work for the Joplin RVIII School District as a reports keeper from 1983 through 1988. She then worked with the State of Missouri in Child Support which she enjoyed for many years before retiring in 2010. She loved her family very much; they were her biggest joy.

In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Stepp who passed away in 2015, and a brother, David Capp.








Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Roy Stepp; son, Jason Stepp and wife Shanda of Webb City, MO, grandchildren, Evan Stepp, Kaitlyn Stepp, and Charlie Stepp-Hill; great-granddaughter, Kendall Jo Stepp; sisters, Rebecca Harl of Asbury, Audrey Brewer of Denison, TX, and Lisa Jackson of Russellville, AR; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with her brother-in-law Ed Stepp officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
