Eleanor Lucille Line Garrison passed away December 4, 2013, in Rockport, Texas. She was born March 11, 1916, in Rolla, Missouri, to Joseph Clifton Line and Mayme Lamar Line. She graduated from high school in Rolla where she met and married Edward Neal Garrison in August, 1941.
The Garrisons moved to Carthage, Missouri, in 1944 where Dr. Garrison established his optometry practice. Eleanor worked as office manager for her husband for many years until his retirement. She was active in Ladies of Lions while her husband was honored with a lifetime membership in Lions Club. Eleanor and Neal were longtime, faithful members of First United Methodist Church of Carthage.
After the death of her husband in 1991, Eleanor moved to Texas. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Fred Sheridan, her son, Roger Garrison, and a brother and three sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Sheridan, of Foley, Alabama, her daughter-in-law, Sandra Garrison, of Rockport, Texas, her grandsons, Randy Pruitt and wife Amy of Washington, Illinois, Spencer Garrison, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Paul Garrison, Allen, Texas. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Mia Pruitt, of Washington, Illinois.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 7, 2013 at Park Cemetery Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, at Ulmer Funeral Home, 1208 S. Garrison in Carthage. The family requests memorial donations to First United Methodist Church of Carthage in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
