Floyd Eugene Rustin age 83, Carthage, Mo. passed away Sunday December 22, 2013 at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center, Mt. Vernon, Mo. following a short illness.
He was born August 20, 1930 in Carl Junction, Mo. to Floyd and Ruby McGinnis Rustin.
Floyd served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. During his time in Korea he was assigned the duty of aircraft control tower operator. Floyd was employed with the Empire District Electric Company and retired as a plant operator.
He married Velma Wilson on April 9, 1949 and was a devoted husband for 64 years. Velma preceded him in death in 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Glen Rustin and 1 sister Barbara Swartz.
Floyd was a loving father who is survived by 2 sons, Steven Rustin and wife Jodie, Highland, Il., Doug Rustin and wife Wendy, Reeds, Mo., 1 sister Betty Couch, Springdale, Ar., 5 granddaughters, Rebecca, Bethany, Alyssa, Ashli, Samantha, and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday December 28, 2013 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary chapel, with Camden Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
