Artha Y. ‘Artie’ Riley, age 74, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away at 10:46 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014.
Artie was born July 19, 1939 in Eaton , Colorado to the late Jess Thompson and Iola Kilmer Thompson and lived in Joplin most of her life before she moved to Bartlesville.
She worked in hotel management in Joplin for over 33 years. She worked at Holiday Inn; Drury Inn and the Baymont Inn. In her spare time, Artie enjoyed gardening and planting flowers.
She married Donald Unger Riley, Sr. on December 21, 1957 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Junior Thompson.
Survivors include a son, Chip Riley, Jr. and his wife, Shirley, Little Rock, Arkansas; three daughters, Katherine Cullum, Neosho, Mona Divine and her husband, Gary, Neosho, Angela Yeager, Granby; two sisters, June Holt, Rita Albers; one brother, R.J. Thompson and his wife, Mary; sister-in-law, Doris Thompson; grandchildren, Brett Riley, Derek Cullum, Rachel Riley, Cassandra Cullum, Taylor Yeager, Cloey McCrory, Karley Yeager, Alea Yeager; 10 great grandchildren (and one on the way); and special friend, Dawn Offutt.
Artie has been taken for cremation.
Memorial services are planned for Saturday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. The family will receive friends following the services at the chapel.
