June Louise Ramage Chung, age 85 of Joplin, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital after a long illness.
Born July 17, 1928 in Enid, OK, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Charles Ramage, Sr. and Gladys Belle Osburn Ramage and was raised in Joplin. She lived in Hawaii for 30 years, returning to Joplin in 1996. June worked in the healthcare field for 40 years and was a member of Christ’s Community United Methodist Church.
Her first husband, Earl Bettes, preceded her in death in 1956. She married Alfred (Sonny) Chung in 1967. He preceded her in death in 1996. Two brothers, Donald Ramage and Edgar C. (Teddy) Ramage, Jr. also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Darlene (Bettes) King and husband Bill, Sherrie Lynn (Tudenham) Waterman and husband Tim, all of Carl Junction; a sister, Mary Ann Clubb of Joplin; four grandchildren, Summer Cole and husband Derek, Sarah King and fiancé Kelvin Fuller, Justin King and fiancée Lisa Sidney, Corey Waterman, all of Carl Junction; five great-grandchildren, Jordan Berry, Emily Cole, Lexi King, Katie Carter and Baylee King.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Parker Chapel with Rev. Chris Sloan officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Private entombment will be in Ozark Memorial Park at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ’s Community United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Wounded Warrior Project.
