Michelle Lynn Edwards, age 41, of Webb City, Mo. passed away at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her home following a three year battle with cancer. Michelle was born into a military family at an Army Hospital in Ft. Campbell, Ky. on June 1, 1972. She spent her early childhood in Tennessee, and Livorno, Italy before her parents, Ronald and Dorothy Lumley, settled in the coastal area of North Carolina where she spent much of her life.
In 2004 she moved to southwest Missouri where she established a successful interior design business. Her work has been published in numerous magazines which include a recent 7 page article in “Better Homes and Gardens”, “Christmas Ideas” 2013 addition as well as an article with a full cover page layout in the Dutch, Libelle magazine. She was known worldwide for her blog, “Sweet Something Designs”, where she gave tutorials on decorating, creating custom furniture, home accents, fashion, and breathtaking tablescapes. Michelle was a member of Christ’s Church of Oronogo, and was formerly a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in North Carolina.
Michelle is survived by her husband of 15 years, Justin, two sons, Keegan Lumley and Logan Edwards, both of the home, one sister, Klair Perry and a niece and nephew, Victoria and Michael Perry, all of Hubert North Carolina.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Christ’s Church of Oronogo with Paul Smith, Minister, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
