Larry J Wright, age 60, Joplin, passed away at 12:44 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital.
Larry was born October 27, 1953 in Hammond, Indiana to the late J Spiral Wright and Mae Madeline Harry Wright and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.
Larry graduated from the former Parkwood High School in 1971. He was a talented and loyal body man and framer and worked at Steve’s Frame and Body for 34 years.
Music was his passion, especially the blues. He enjoyed playing the guitar; playing golf or just spending the day fishing.
Larry loved his dogs, Pete and Tanya and loved the kids at their daycare.
He married Cara E. Roux on August 24, 2011 in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Nancy Hardy and her husband, Jim, Joplin, Terry Judge and her husband, Craig, Ft. Worth, Texas; one brother, Steve Wright, Pittsburg, Kansas; two step-sons, Michael Wall and his wife, Christy, Harrison, Tennessee, RJ Py, Savannah, Georgia; sister-in-law, Roxanne Marinelli, Carthage; father-in-law, Norman Jensen, Carthage; brother-in-law, John Jensen and his wife, Peggy, Jasper; and several nieces; nephews; aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his first wife, Angela Wright, in 2009.
Larry has been taken for cremation. A committal services is planned for Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
