G. Noema Hitchcock, 91 passed away January 6, 2014 in Granby, Missouri. She was born May 19, 1922 in Mt. Vernon, Missouri to T.R. Dixon and Lena Fay “Owens” Dixon. Noema was a longtime Carthage resident.
She was in retail sales in Carthage and Joplin area. Noema was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Carthage.
Noema was united to William “Harold” Hitchcock September 1, 1940 in Carthage; he preceded her in death September 1, 1971. Noema is survived by one son Ronnie Lee Hitchcock of Carthage, one Daughter- in -Law Veda Hitchcock of Carthage, three sisters Norma Lee Rogers of Springfield, Joan Wigley of Grandview and Linda Weirs of Springfield, one brother Earl Dixon of Aurora, seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Noema is preceded by her husband William “Harold” Hitchcock, an infant son David Michael Hitchcock who passed away in 1948, her son William Hitchcock who passed in 2000, and one brother Joe Dixon.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday January 9, 2014 at Fasken Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday January 8, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fasken Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Granby House Granby Missouri In care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
