Lela May Palmer, 89, passed away January 8, 2014 in Carthage, Missouri.
Lela was born October 3 1924 in St. Louis Missouri to Captain Charles W. Kyle and May “Horton” Kyle. Lela previously lived in Houston, Texas and was a file clerk for the Port of Houston, Houston, Texas. She was a member of the Blaine Nazarene Church of Houston. She lived here in Carthage for the past 9 years and attended the Salvation Army Church of Carthage.
Lela was united in marriage to John Leslie Palmer 1961 in Carthage. He passed in 1970. Lela was survived by three brothers Nathan James Kyle of Colorado, Herbert Thomas Kyle of North Carolina, Wesley Charles Kyle of Florida. One Sister Patricia Ann Maggard of Carthage. Several nieces and nephews of which she treated as her own. Lela was preceded by one brother Jerry David Kyle of Louisiana and One sister Dorothy Jane Sutton of Missouri.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 11, 2014 at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday January 10, 2014 at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery Houston, Texas. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com. Contributions can be made to the Salvation Army in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
