Charles David Greninger, age 76 of Joplin, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at Silver Creek Assisted Living Center.
Born March 29, 1937 in Joplin, he was the son of the late William Al Greninger and Ethel Reisch Greninger and lived in Joplin his lifetime. He worked many years for the former Waterman’s Florist and then 20 years as a custodian for Missouri Southern State University. He served in the peacetime U.S. Army.
Survivors include four siblings, Eleanor Proctor of Kansas City, MO, John Greninger and his wife Kathy of Jacksonville, FL, Cora (Tillie) Taylor of Las Vegas, NV, Harry Greninger of Joplin; many nieces and nephews.
Five siblings preceded him in death, Bill, Margaret, Helen, Laurann (Dolly) and an infant sister, Nancy.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Parker Chapel with Rev. Kevin Melton officiating. Private interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ethel A. Greninger Scholarship at Missouri Southern Foundation in care of Parker Mortuary, 1502 S. Joplin Ave., Joplin MO 64804. Scholarships will be awarded to a deserving Joplin High School student attending M.S.S.U.
