Walter Jefferson Faulkner, age 89, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at his home.
Walter was born December 13, 1924 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, son of the late James Westley Faulkner and Evay Jordan Faulkner. He moved to Joplin as a child, and attended school in Joplin before serving in the United States Army during World War II. He returned to Joplin and worked for Eagle Picher for a number of years before joining Faubian Tank and Tower in Carthage as a welder which he did for over 25 years.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his first wife,. Phyllis Joann Parker Faulkner who died in 1974; he then married Katherine J. Clevenger, she passed away in 2002; he was also preceded by a son, Walter Samuel Faulkner.
Survivors include his daughter, Janice M. Rosko and husband Bob of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; brother, Jim Faulkner and wife Cheryl also of Bartlesville; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Private services will be held at a later date.
