Betty Jo Link, age 83 of Joplin, Mo., passed away Friday, January 10th, 2014 at National Health Care following an illness.
Betty was born on October 28, 1930 in McDonald County, Mo., the daughter of Elmer and Letha (Murphy) Cooper. She has been an area resident for the majority of her life, where she was a homemaker and spent her days loving and caring for her family. She also worked as a sales clerk for Wal-Mart for a little more than 12 years. Betty was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Joplin. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables from her garden.
She married John L. Link on June 23, 1951; he preceded her in death on December 8, 2008. Betty is survived by one son; Barry Link and his wife Kay of Stella, Mo., one daughter; Avis Clark and her husband Dan of Joplin, four grandchildren; Alecia, Holly, Ryan and Megan, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel, Gene Bebee, Minister, will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery near Stella, Mo. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
