(From Simpson Funeral Home)Debra Sue Henderson age 63 of Joplin, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Carthage, Missouri on June 18, 1958 to Richard Erskin and Carolyn (Rowe) Smith.
Debra was a member of the First Baptist Church in Webb City and graduated from Parkwood High School.
She married Carl Henderson on June 4, 1976 in Miami, Oklahoma and he survives her.
Debra is also survived by her children, Ashley Harris and husband Jacob of Webb City, Jessika Clyde and husband of Joplin, Christopher Henderson, and Austin Henderson both of Joplin; her mother, Carolyn Smith of Carthage; her father and stepmother, Richard Erskin and wife Dorothy of Joplin; a sister, Sherry Smith and husband Jim of Carthage; a brother, Rick Erskin of Wichita, Kansas; and 13 grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Inez Rowe; her in-laws, Phil and Lois Henderson; and her stepfather, Bob Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Webb City. The family will be present for visitation at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow services in Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
