(From Weng Funeral Chapel)Oleeta Kay Ellis, 67 of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Cox South Medical Center, Springfield, MO. She was born on May 25, 1954 in California to Finis and Evelyn (Kidd) Essary.
Oleeta was a laborer and had worked for Big Smith Company and Leggett & Platt. She was a member of the James River Church in Joplin.
Survivors include her parents, Finis and Loretta Essary and Evelyn Kaderly, one son, James Thomas and wife Natosha, three daughters, Cheryl Doerr and husband Clyde, Chelly Tilton, and Crystal Fast and husband Eric, two brothers, Ron Essary, and Skeeter Rogers, four sisters, Jean Layton, Alice Seaton, Bonnie Nicodenus, and Treva Feder. A proud Nana to twelve grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, whom were her world and she loved so very much. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kristofer Barnard Jr..
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO. A private graveside service will be held later.
