Perk Collins

Delbert “Perk” Collins age 77 of Webb City, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at his home. He was born February 4, 1944 in Pomona, Missouri to the late Lawrence and Helen (Dollins) Collins. 

At the age of 15 the family moved to Diamond, Missouri where Perk went to work skidding and hauling logs with his dad and brother. At 18 he was hauling can milk for Carnation and Kraft. 









 
On January 14, 1965 he married Gladys Smith at his parents’ home East of Diamond. In 1967 they moved to Webb City where he painted houses, and worked several years delivering papers for the Webb City Wise buyer, until retiring for health reasons. 

He loved God and his family with his whole heart. Perk was a member of the Webb City Nazarene Church where he served as an usher and worked on building and grounds. 

He is survived by his wife Gladys of 56 ½ years of marriage; 3 sons, Darryl Collins and wife Kristi of Webb City, Gerald Collins of Joplin, Terry Collins and wife Beth of Springfield, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Kayla, Emily, Darryl, II., and Aaron Collins, and a special baby Abby. 

Perk was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, Royse, Glen, Don, Ray, Randy, and Kenny; along with 1 sister, Shirley. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Haeck officiating. The family will be present for visitation from 12:00 PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in Wild Rose Cemetery.
