Shirley Hemby

Shirley Kay Hemby, of Pittsburg, KS, passed on September 13, 2021 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.

She was born on May 8, 1948 in Pittsburg, KS, the daughter of Henry F. Nannie (Brown) Johns.

Shirley was a graduate from Pittsburg High.

On April 7, 1968 Shirley married Robert Wallace, they later divorced and he passed away on March 15, 2008.








Shirley married Curtiss Hemby Sr. on July 20, 1989 in Pittsburg, KS, he preceded her in death on March 1, 2014.

She was a caregiver at Personal Homes in Pittsburg for many years and was a former member of the Church of God Holiness.

Survivors include six sons; Larry Wallace and wife Lona of Pittsburg, KS, Henry Wallace and wife Treva of Webb City, MO, Curtis Hemby and wife Kris, of Pittsburg, KS, Brad Wallace and wife Renita of Pittsburg, KS, Jeremy Wallace and wife Laura of Pittsburg, KS, Randy Wallace and wife Karle of Pittsburg, KS, two daughters; Tina Canfield and husband Dan of Bismark, Arkansas, Pandora Redd of Pittsburg, KS, Step-son Robert Vanderpool and wife Julie Of Oswego, KS, brother James Johns and wife Brenda of Pittsburg, KS, four sisters; Dorothy Jacks of Pittsburg, KS, Vickie Dibble of Pittsburg, KS, Debbie Beasley and husband Everett of Joplin, Mo, Nancy Alexander of Joplin, MO, forty plus grandchildren, ten plus great-grandchildren, numerous foster kids and adopted boys.

Shirley is preceded in death by his parents, two husbands, two brothers; Bill Johns, Roy Johns, two sisters; Betty Pryor, Lottie Phillips and one granddaughter; Marley Wallace.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Nashville Cemetery in Nashville, MO.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762
