Wallace Joice

Rev. Wallace Evan Joice, 83, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, in the comfort of his home.

Wallace began his earthly journey on October 1, 1937, in Jenks, Oklahoma, one of three children born to the late Famous and Florence Evelyn (Clinton) Joice. He was raised in Jenks and was a 1955 graduate of Jenks High School. 

On March 16, 1963, he was united in marriage to Carol Roberts and to this union a daughter, Rebecca, was born. 








Wallace was a Gospel Minister for over fifty years with the Assemblies of God. He started his ministry traveling across the United States as an evangelist. He pastored First Assembly of God Churches in Newport, Arkansas, Hannibal, Missouri, Warsaw, Missouri and Joplin, Missouri. He also taught at Ozark Bible Institute and College in Neosho, Missouri, for over forty-years. In addition to his ministry, he was an electrician by trade. He enjoyed hunting, reading and was proud of his Cherokee ancestry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Alexander Belt.

Wallace is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Carol Joice of the home; a daughter, Rebecca Moore and husband, Shawn, of Neosho; a granddaughter in-law, Ivy-Lynn Belt; two great granddaughters, Klara-Lynn Belt and Presley-Lynn Belt; a brother, David Joice and wife, Nora, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a sister, Carolyn Ward and husband, Everett, of Springfield, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Monday at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri, with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery in Neosho. The family will receive friends on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the mortuary chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are being directed to Assemblies of God Mission Department Africa’s Hope c/o the mortuary. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
