Max Pyle

Max Duane Pyle, 78, of rural El Dorado Springs passed away in his home, July 3, 2020, surrounded by loved ones following a courageous battle with cancer. Max was born at home on February 14, 1942 in Stockton, MO to Ernest and Eunice Pyle.

Max grew up in Stockton, graduating from Stockton High School in 1960. 

On April 15, 1983, Max married Diana, uniting their families. Together they raised 5 children, Russ, Shelly, Melissa, Darren, and Brian. Max was baptized at a young age at the Methodist Church in Stockton. 








After marrying Diana, the two began attending the Church of God Holiness in Deerfield, MO. Max enjoyed carpentry work and restoring cars, trucks and tractors. Max was always available to lend a helping hand. He preferred and enjoyed the simpler things in life. Max enjoyed his trips to Estes Park in Colorado, hiking with family. Hand cranking homemade ice cream was his specialty, but only vanilla. Before retiring he worked driving a propane truck and working for the Woody family. After Retirement, Max and his sister – Jean worked together building and improving homes for many families and friends. For the past seven years he and Diana maintained the Deerfield Cemetery.

Max was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Eunice Pyle, son- Thomas Duane, brother-in-law -Harlen Hillmer, niece Terri and nephew Blake Moberly. 

He is survived by his wife, Diana Pyle, of the home. Children: Russ Moore of Springfield, Shelly Swopes and husband Bruce of El Dorado Springs, Melissa Hoffman and Kevin of Nevada, Darren Adams and wife Traci of El Dorado Springs, and Brian Pyle and wife Stephani of Joplin. Grandchildren: Ian, Zachariah, Kaitlyn, Claire, Amanda, Bryce, Bailey, Max Anthony, Derek, Kale, Nathen, Jordan and Tucker. Great Grandchildren: Jase, Eli, Callum, Faye, Vincent, and Karter. Siblings: Wayne Pyle and wife Fritz, Jean Hillmer, Johnny Pyle, Beverly McIntosh and husband Mike, and Larry Pyle and Helen, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Deerfield Cemetery in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
