Evelyn Foster

Evelyn Foster, age 86 of Neosho, entered into rest on July 29, 2020 following an extended illness. Evelyn was born Jan. 4, 1934 in Purdy, Missouri, the daughter of Perry and Chloe (Stone) Roller. She graduated from Purdy High School and was a lifelong area resident. 

Evelyn worked as an executive secretary at Rocketdyne and then co-owned and operated Foster Enterprises with her husband, Bob until retiring. Evelyn enjoyed hosting her extended family on various holidays. Thanksgiving always included her famous pecan pie and Christmas was the time for her ice cream roll. She made around a hundred of these each year and shared them with friends and special ladies from church. She even gave lessons to others on how to make them. There were always chocolate chip cookies in her kitchen year round. 








Her home was decorated with antiques and collectables and beautiful seasonal items. For her weekly beauty shop appointments and other outings, she never forgot earrings and lipstick. Evelyn was an active member of the First Christian Church and served as CWF President. She was instrumental in the decorating of the church and enjoyed decorating for seasonal activities. She was a very detailed person. 

Evelyn and Robert ‘Bob’ Foster were married on June 17, 1961 at the First Christian Church and shared 59 years together. 

In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by two children, Susan (Jim) Jackson of Neosho and James (Michelle) Foster of Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren, Heather (John) Stafford of Leawood, Kansas, Amanda (Tanner) Smith of Overland Park, Kansas, Cassie Foster and Martin Foster of Joplin and Claire Plaster, Owen Plaster and Max Plaster; greatgrandchildren, Lauren, Charlotte and Connor Stafford, Claire and Cate Owenby and Wyatt Smith and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, John Foster, two brothers, Burl and Austin Roller and four sisters, Nadine, Hazel, Muriel and Lucille. 

Memorial services will be Monday, August 3, 2020 at 1 pm at the Neosho First Christian Church, Clement Graham will officiate. Contributions in memory of Evelyn are suggested to the First Christian Church, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
