Billy Ross

Billy G. Ross age 81 of Webb City, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born in Star City, Arkansas to Lee Ross and Merle (Adams) Ross on January 24, 1939. 

Billy graduated from Star City High School and then attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he graduated with a business degree in 1963. He was a branch manager for Commercial Credit Corporation in Tennessee and Arkansas before switching careers and going into farming with his father in law. 

Billy married Mary (Anderson) Ross on July 14, 1975 in Webb City and they were married 45 years. He was a former deacon, and is a member of Forest Park Baptist Church in Joplin. 








He is survived by his wife, Mary Ross of Webb City; a daughter, Julie Alexander and husband John of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, J.D. Alexander and Michael Alexander; and a brother, Larry Ross and wife Linda of Joplin. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Orville Ross. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Forest Park Baptist Church in Joplin with Dr. John Swadley officiating. Billy will lie in state on Friday at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM for viewing. Burial will follow services at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. For consideration of the family and friends at the service we do suggest that mask be worn at the service.
