Nancy Genell (Macy) Wise was born November 13, 1937 in Newton County, Missouri, the daughter of Earl and Nora (Cope) Macy. She entered into rest on July 27, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, at the age of 82.
Nancy graduated from the brand new high school in 1955. She started her working career at McClintock’s IGA, then 20 years at Mo-Ark offices before retiring from Kraft Foods. She was a lifelong area resident, having lived in Goodman for over 60 years.
Nancy and her neighbor, Shirley loved to sit on the front porch and talk the afternoon away. She loved her family, being outside, camping and fishing, her dogs and cooking. She was a member of the Goodman First Baptist Church.
Nancy married Reuben Wise, June of 1983 in Miami and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2012.
She is survived by her daughters, Lea Vansandt and husband, Glen of Neosho, Beth Embrey of Neosho, and Traci Wise of Neosho; four grandchildren, Rachel Crozier of Kansas City, Dylan Embrey of Neosho, Jared Vansandt of Neosho, and Aaron Briggs of Neosho; one great granddaughter, Zoe Boudreau of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Richard Macy of El Dorado, KS and her best friend, Shirley Bunch.
Private family graveside services will be held. Contributions in memory of Nancy may be made to Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
